Well Decommissioning Cost-share Program

Well Decommissioning Form

The Lower Big Blue NRD will provide landowners cost-share money for materials used in the proper decommissioning of water wells. The District will provide assistance in the amount of 60% of the actual cost to plug a well, up to a maximum of $600.00. Guidelines outlined below must be followed to receive payment:

1. Well must be decommissioned by a licensed water well contractor or pump installation contractor.

2. Decommissioning must be in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Cost of decommissioning does not include cost of pump or tower removal.

4. Original receipts showing work done and materials used must accompany this form.
