About the NRD

In 1972 the Nebraska Legislature combined 154 special interest groups and districts in 24 Natural Resources Districts. Boundaries for these unique subdivisions were based upon hydrologic lines of river basins.

The Lower Big Blue NRD is one of 23 Natural Resources Districts in the state of Nebraska.

The Lower Big Blue NRD is governed by a 13 member Board of Directors and has a staff of 9 full time employees – 6 full time employees at the main office in Beatrice and 4 at local NRCS offices.
